Oct 2005 – One years Change-up funding secured to establish ENFG Launch of the "Faith in Action" Audit, with Malcolm Duncan of Faithworks.
Jan 2006 – Consultation meetings with North Northamptonshire Joint Planning Unit
2005/6 – Consistent input and involvement in LSP groups, VCS and youth forums plus other government and community focussed meetings – Helping to put Faith Groups on the map and make our distinctive voice heard at every level Presentation of Faithworks “Intelligent Church” Concept with input from Rev. Malcolm Duncan
•Street Pastors – Community safety. Meeting with Rev Les Isaacs of Ascension Trust in May 2006 – Framework for involvement set out – Nov 06 - Funding applied for 2007-9 to set up the work. Project Launched and first 12 volunteers trained in 2008. Impact so far 58% drop in crime in Rushden in 2008 and a further 65% in 2009.
•Debt Counselling Service. Contact made in June 06. The Challenge and possibility of a partnership program for East Northants – Support from 20 Churches needed £15,000 per year! After much consultation it is agreed to encourage local churches to take up the CAP Money Mangement course as a model for the future. 6 Churches in East Northants have now been registered and trained to offer this life changing course.
•Listening Skills – Jun 06 Taster session Full Course offered Feb 2007
•Homeless Project – Dec 05- March survey and needs assessment – Findings presented to ENDC Homelessness Forum – Sept 06 – Community project support from Anglian Water – Oct 06 Plans submitted to Council…Winter 2006/7 Pilot opening Formal Opening March 2008. • January 2011 ENCS took over management and operation of the formely run YMCA drop in centre, Kettering. This servise is now renamed as St Judes community drop in. To augment and support this service in conjuction with a network of Kettering church's we established the Kettering Homelessness Forum, as a means of bringing all partners together to formulate new partnerships and strategies for the future.
